Warwicks

Right getting a new bass. Corvette to be precise.

But I want some advice fomr someone who owns one of these,
What is the difference between the rockbass version and the original? Is there much of a difference in sound, because there is a huge difference in price and I want to know should I go for the expensive one?

WW are cool...........but they seem to as less versatile then a Jazz or P bass. I used to own a Thumb BO5. I traded in a USA Hamer Cruise 5 with the 2Tek bridge. Man that was mistake....I thought since the WW was 'cooler looking', it was - ******* gorgeous bass, and more expensive that it would be a superior bass. It wasn't. The Hamer felt better and had tone for days. Check this bass out - it's a 4 string Hamer Cruise with the 2Tek. Well worth every penny of the $600 the guy wants. These basses can out perform and out tone most basses 2-3x's its price. Just my .02 since I have been down the WW road before.

Thanks to the above. Great help.

See as far as buying a used Corvette (not the rockbass) where should I go. Ebay?

check your local music stores and pawn shops, etc. then check classifides. then look on ebay!

+1 on that. Depends on where you're living, too. How many good guitar stores in your area? How many that sell used? You can also look on your local "Craig's List" and you'd still be able to go and see the bass before paying for it. There's some good shops in the Seattle area, and all these places are worth looking at way before pushing that "bid" button. That's a scarry feeling depending on the price, since you can't physically sit and try out the product...

I've bought one bass on ebay, and got real lucky. Part of the reason was because it was a Warwick. Can't complain about the quality! Go used; go the real thing; and go to a reputable shop and try them out first. Good luck!!!:D
