Was Electric Bass Your First Instrument?

Guitar at first as my sister used to play guitar but gave up so i used hers to practice. Then i bought a bass.
Now i play Guitar, Bass, Drums and tiny amounts of piano! Hoping to learn double bass in the future.

drums, well drum is more accurate, I took lessons in grade school and those were rudimentary in prep for marching and concert band so there was no drum kit involved. Moved to sax for a couple of years and didn't like it much. Then my aunt sold me her deceased first husband's electric guitar for $15 (in 1968 I think), but I pretty much played it like a bass and wasn't interested in chords and such really. Then I got my first real bass and that was that. Over the years I've learned guitar well enough for writing and tracking rhythm parts and do OK on drums too.
Started on violin, then upright, euphonium, trombone, tuba, then bass. Bass and tuba/sousaphone remain my most played.
started on clarinet when I was about 9, switched to bassoon when I was about 11 or 12, then picked up my roomates bass while I was in music school, I was about 17.
Guitar.
After years with a classical guitar, I FINALLY got a Strat, then I realized I was playing all the bass lines one octave up.

Bass was the last instrument I tried. Back when I was a kid it was unheard of to actually want to be a bass player. But a couple working musicians I knew told me that guitarists and drummers were a dime a dozen, but a good bassist or keyboard player would always find a gig. Never quite got the hang of piano, but bass was easy for me. So bass it was! I still gig occasionally on guitar. Everyone hates my leads but they love my rhythm playing 
But bass playing got me a lot of gigs I wouldn't have gotten otherwise because hardly anyone else played it. It's still kind of true, though not as much.

But guitar helped me alot because i knew the chords, i could watch the guitar player and know what he was doing and what key ect.
No head games being the bass player,guitarist allways have problems in pairs on the spotlight issues and who's better than the other.
I still pay alittle guitar now,i have an acoustic laying around for ideas that come up ,i can lay down some chords and work on bass lines..

My very first instrument was the Trumpet, as my father is a Trumpet player, but i lost interest and never went very far.
The first instrument that i choose to play on my own was the guitar, which i primarily identify with.
I got into bass a few years after that.
I took an interest in keyboard/piano, but i decided to just focus on guitar and bass.
I would love to learn the Cello and Sitar one day.

Man a Cello can tame any beast, I met an old man in his 80's that played a cello so sweet so sweet.
I was turned on to an solo artist CD it was all cello , cant remember who it was but it was so mellow and sweet ,
I started out with trombone in 6th grade. A year and a half later I decided that the bass was the greatest instrument on the planet! I still play trombone for fun and for my school. I have also added guitar, piano/keyboard, mellophone, banjo, and I am learning double bass.
It was my third. First was saxaphone, the guitar for a really short time, then bass. It is the only one that hold my interest.
