Washburn Club Thread

Dunno whether anyone has started a wasburn club yet, thought i might as well. I just got a taurus 24 and its a completely legendary bass, except its buzzes a little and there is little tapping ability past the 15th fret.
Just tell us wat bass(es) u have and if you want to join.

Funny I had this thought the other day.

Washburn B200
Washburn AB20
Washburn Status (I need to look up the number)

I play the B200 all the time for over 10 years and I still like it. The AB20 has made a nice alternative for church work altough I still would like a magnetic pup in it. The status is nice but I still am not used to the headless thing.

So does that make me number #2?

I have two Washburn Scavengers both made at the Matsumoko factory ~1981, the first I bought in 1983 the second in 2006...

here they are

I've got a Washburn AB45, strung with Status Graphite Black Nylon tapewounds.

I'm pretty happy about the sound it delivers, but I'd like to raise the action a bit as I'm getting a bit of fretbuzz especially on the G-string. Anybody have any ideas how I can raise it as there is no way to adjust the bridge on this bass.

Also I've been thinking to re-string it E-C instead of B-G. I've found that with this ABG the mids and highs are nicer and warmer than the heavy lows, so I almost never use the B-string.

I am 31 and just bought a T14Q.

When I was younger I had a friend who played bass but wanted to play guitar. He taught me some simple songs (nirvana, everclear, suicidal T.) just so he could practice playing guitar and singing.
I hadn't thought about playing since then. That is until my wife got this guitar in the mail for buying a VW. I fiddled around with it for a few days and I said to myself, "I wish this was a bass".
So an internet trip later...

Now I'm looking for an inexpensive practice amp.
Any suggestions?

I've got this little jem, seems to be a cheapo beginner bass out of the 80's. Plywood body, maple one piece neck, rosewood fingerboard.

It came to me poorly defretted, stripped of almost all its finish and in pieces. I did some more sanding, sprayed with primer, and used automotive spray paint. Also filled the fret slots and polyurethaned the fingerboard. I should've used some wood filler before priming, since you can see the end grain of the plywood around the edges. Oh well.

I actually bought the taurus T25 a few years back on a whim and fell in love with it. I play 'hardcore' music and 'throwdown' on stage a lot and needed a bass that both sounded good, and was rather inexpensive, in-case something were to happen. Now I am a Washburn fanatic and recently made another Washburn purchase. I have an older XB800 that has Status pickups in it. The XB800 plays like a dream, it is just a step below Washburns American series basses. I have received so many compliments on my tone and the pleasure to astonish a few people with the brand of bass I play. I hope to own a XB920 or XB925 in the near future.

Not sure the number member I would be.

I have an XB 400 I bought in '94. Still use it though now its the D G C F bass now. Plays well, still sounds good though sometimes I hear a little buzz in the active electronics from time to time. Only do about six songs a night on her now but used to be my main axe.

I have both a T24 and T25 and love them both, although I continue to internally debate whether or not I need a 5-string. I have my eye on one of the new Idol series bases as well.

I've been playing for several years on several different types of basses (e.g. Bass Collection, SX, Yamaha) and finally fell in love when I played my T24 for the first time. it has great, mellow tone, a wonderfully fast neck and terrific sustain. Our drummer commented the other day on how much better I am as a player since I started using the T24 regularly - this is partly due to the great neck and partly due to the fact that I can't put the thing down.

Anyway, I guess I'm club member #15, so I'll put it in my sig. Thanks for the thread!
