Washburn xb-600 ("bantam") vs. mb-6 ("mercury")

I am shopping for an affordable (300-400$) 6 string bass with tight string spacing (e.g., 16mm or less). I am most interested in 90s Washburns at the moment and have learned of 2 models of potential interest that fit my criteria, the xb-600 and the mb-6 that preceded it.

I have surmised that the Washburn xb-600 6 string bass was evolved from the earlier Washburn mb-6, and that the former is associated with Grover Jackson. Beyond those factoids...

I was wondering whether folks could tell me which they would choose and why, if given the choice between the two (at comparable prices)? If there are other similar Washburn models I should be aware of, please do tell, but otherwise please keep discussion to these. Thanks!
