Stylistically, it reminds me of some of the early eighties Disco Funk I've heard in some movies from around that time, including an old, Canadian, animated cult-classic I adore.

I think I sense a drummer in a not-too-distant previous life! Of course, I'm speaking as a former (and hope to be once again), drummer. What can I say, other than, we can "smell our own"! :thumbsup:

Yeah, you're right!
I played a bit of drums in my teen years! ;-)
But I fell in love with the bass much earlier. It's a very physical instrument to me.
And that incorporates the way I understand its playing technique, and the way good music should be played back: with capable speakers and amp, so that you can feeeeeel the bass.

Movie and TV series themes, and 70's disco music in general, is something I absolutely adore! ;-)
I think my slap technique, and my whole "style" is more traditional, or retro.
There are some very gifted and seriously skilled cats around these days, with chops, I can only dream of. And I like some of these guys very much (Michael League is such a gifted musician, and Joe Dart could have easily been born 20 yeas earlier ;-))
But my all time heroes are guys like Mr. Jamerson, Sir Paul McCartney, and the unbelievably inspiring Chuck Rainey!

Hah! Called it! I told you we can smell our own!! And yes, exactly…it's all about "The Feels", especially when you can feel the air moving, the sound reverberating through your chest and the impacts echoing through your hands! It's one of the greatest sensations when you're wailing away at a kit with controlled abandon.

If you don't mind, I'm gonna send you a PM with the movie scene I mentioned earlier…specifically, the one your vid reminded me of. (It's got some mature elements that might get some people a little steamed AND me in a bit of trouble for posting it. :whistle:)

We have similar taste! I've posted on Joe Dart and Michael League. I appreciate the modern stuff, but I will always be an Old School player. James Jamerson laid the foundation for all bassists!

My current favorites are: Cody Wright, Marcus Miller, David Dyson, Joe Dart and Sharay Reed.

I like that its dark and funky at the same time. I'd like some more of that. Whats ur favorite jazzfunk bands?
Im into alot lately but the few songs I have from panache are quite the poopie
