Waterproof your pedals!!!

I saw this news story and thought it could be useful to some of us! I've heard plenty of horror stories involving pints of beer or dog pee ending the life of people's prized pedals.

Now you can waterproof all your electronics in an invisible coating so that if you wanted you could play your gig under water in full scuba gear! :bassist:

Wow! That is really interesting! I guess if you have some vintage or otherwise highly prized/priced pedals, it would be worth it to end the possibility of water damage.

Me on the other hand, I'm pretty tired of dropping my cell phones in the toilet.

These kind of products (and that Golden Shellback one in particular) have been around for a few years now. I've never used them before, but I imagine they would work if you applied the stuff REALLY well... Water doesn't hurt electronics (unless it causes corrosion down the track). It's only when electricity is flowing and the water creates possibly nasty short circuits that damage occurs. This stuff would just create a moisture barrier while at the same time being delicate on your components and not creating shorts itself.

I wouldn't put much trust in it as it would take a really well applied coat to get into all the knooks and crannies, but at least it might provide some splash resistance.
