Wattplower II - 30” Short Scale + Thru Body

I have a Reverend Wattplower II and love it, but I am having a lot of trouble finding strings that are the right length to run thru body (offers top loaded or thru body).
It is 30" scale, and all short scale strings I've tried aren't long enough for thru body, and long scale is too long!
I currently play a top loaded D'Addario ETB92S (Black Nylon tapewound short scale, 50-105) but really want to string thru body for better sustain. My preferred tone is warm round low end, I try my hardest to sound like Nicolas Godin on Air's album Moon Safari.
Does anyone know of a string length, type, and gauge that will work?! Thank you

The short scale DR strings (sunbeams) fit my medium scale so might fit.

Mark the spot past the nut on a string and then take it off and measure to get the winding length you're looking for.

Top-load vs. thru-body... It's has been my experience there is very little difference, if any, in tonal quality. Contrary to how it's marketed, the thru-body option does not improve on the sustain, at least not that anyone can tell.

If you insist on thru-body, you can always try the D'A Black Nylons in "medium scale" (ETB92M), which is 34" in winding length (ball end to taper/silk). That's what you need for thru-body on a short scale.

If a string is too short you're out of luck.

But if the string set is too long you can use "cutenators" to shorten them.

Some posters will say you can't do they but they're not even tangentially right.

Are you sure 32" from ball end to taper is long enough for thru-body? "Winding length" = length of the full winding measured from the ball end.

DR "short scale" = 33.75" in winding length = long enough for thru-body on 30" scale.

Yeah you're good with DR Short Scale sets.

La Bella makes the 760F-MUS specifically for string-through short scale.

But if the string set is too long you can use "cutenators" to shorten them.

TI flats and rounds come in a "short scale" that's actually more like a medium scale 32". They would work well... and sound great.

It works! I just need to lock the tapes down with some super glue.

you're right. It's 32.75", 33" to be safe, for the winding length after I measured using an old string
