WAY HUGE SWOLLEN PICKLE OR PORK LOIN?

Decide why you want a pedal first. Not being sarcastic, but those are two extremely different pedals for different purposes. A Youtube search will help you more than anyone's words typed in a forum.
Keep in mind also that different people can get different results from similar pedals. For example, some think the Big Muff stinks, and others won't play without a Big Muff.
haha... im pretty much the opposite. got the swollen pickle.. took me ages to find a fuzz i liked.. and now want a pork loin!
must be patient tho. i have a fuzzrocious rat tail on order.
The PL is fantastic. The Swollen Pickle is a pretty good fuzz. Let us know how you feel about it once you get it.
Like many others said already, it's best to try them and compare. From what I saw on YouTube, I was more attracted to the Pork Loin for the crunchiness I could get. The Pickle is too fuzzy for my taste and I don't my bass to sound like a swarm of bees.
Also take notice that the demos on YouTube are often done with awesome amp stacks. If you have a small combo at home, you really have to try them in a store.
My pedal board has: MXR M87 Bass Compressor, Pork Loin, Cry Baby Bass Wah, and a tuner pedal. I chose these because they're all great whether I play bass or guitar.

I hated the swollen pickle. I tried for 3 months to dial in a sound I liked. Messed with the knobs inside too. Nothing worked ended up trading it for an lm308 modded rat 2. I love that rat!
Both are very different pedals, one does not replace the other.
Pickle = fuzz.
Pork = light overdrive.
I never could get a good sound from a Pickle, so I replaced it with a DMB Bumble. 5000 times better.
My Pork Loin stayed though, I used it for a thick, tubey overdriven sound like you'd get from an old SVT amp. In fact, to me the Pork does that better than the CBread SFT.
You should also get a Green Rhino.

You don't hear too many people say that they didn't like the Pork Loin. It's amazing. Can't wait to get one. Played one awhile ago. It was amazing.
I use the Pork Loin and the Green Rhino. Both sound AMAZING on bass. They can even work both on at the same time very nicely with the right settings. The Swollen Pickle was too much fuzz for me. Having said that I thought it was one of the better sounding fuzz pedals I'd tried. All IMO of course - you may hear things completely differently.
Love love love the loin but never got a good grip on the pickle. So the pickle is long gone but the loin has outwitted outlasted and outplayed some great (read:Fuzzrocious et al) pedals
That depends on what type of music you play and what type of sound you're looking for. if you want like a tube overdrive type sound, go with the pork loin. this pedal is usually the most recommended overdrive pedal for bass. if you want more like a fuzz, the swollen pickle would be right up your alley.
The SP has loads of bass, but not enough punch and definition. I am liking the TAFM much better for a solo bass fuzz. My SP has come into its own in the FX loop of my QTron+ though, where that deep bass is working great. The filter itself provides plenty of punch and definition.
I would love to try a Pork Loin some day, but don't use much OD in my sound with my current bands. It's either deep and clean, filters, or mayhem.
