I decided ditch the exposed buttons and hide things under a membrane made from a piece of mouse pad originally intended for a drum synthetic project

Here's the underside of one of those covers

So... many... wires... This board reduces the 12 wires from the 6 pressure touch pads down to 7

And the buttons intended to control a 3 channel looper

Switch matrix on the other side, 4 select presets, the other 5 select the slider function:

Apart from the expense and difficulty modifying it, makes a 4-layer (or more) PCB (that's functional) as a pickguard (or under the pickguard) look all kinds of sensible.

Yeah, I think it could be done with 2 layers; setting it up on Vero board wasn't too difficult.

Les Paul's "little black box" has nothing on this

Les didn't have cool little microcontrollers to work with though.
