WBO-2023 : Neuromancer

Here is my entry for the 2023 WBO So originally I was thinking to just make this a pure techie sorta thing, as it progressed I started thinking Cyberpunk as well, hence the name "Neuromancer" which was the name of William Gibson's first novel that more or less spawned the genre. The idea is an aggro'd out 7-string RD with a built-in MIDI controller (pretty nerdy, eh?):

I'll be building the body, and using a 7 string neck from GFS. The neck's a little rough but should be serviceable. This will be a 26.5" scale 7-string down-tuned to G-C-G-D-f-a-d. I'll be using an .085 on the low G which will make this a Partial Build.

Shown: 2.8" TFT touchscreen, ESP-32 microcontroller w/bluetooth, GFS neck, Hipshot 7-string bridge, Strandberg 7-string pickups from eBay, StringJoy 10/85 8-string set, cherry for Carbon fiber for the pickguards, cherry top, poplar body blank. The touch screen will be used to control off-board effects. Overall paint scheme will be a satin-black base with TurboDork Dark Net color-shift paint.

There have been a few commercial products that do similar things like the Livid Guitar Wing and the AcPad . I may have taken a few ideas for control layout from the AcPad

The drum machine and looper (and other effects) will be off-board, but controlled from the buttons on the guitar via Bluetooth MIDI. One of the hardest things on the Outlaw that I did last year was getting the noise under control. I'm keeping the the audio path separate and just doing MIDI controls for offboard effects for this reason.
