WD-800 Subway Phantom Power Question

Sorry if this has already been discussed, I wasn't able to find anything answering my specific questions.

So I have a mixer that has global phantom power. I want to be able to use the DI while I'm using the phantom power for other inputs. Am I able to plug the DI on the WD-800 into any of the inputs on the mixer with phantom power? I know from reading the manual that the amp is phantom power protected, but is it wise to have it plugged into phantom power for regular use. I'm not sure if the point of the protection is for sustained use or just for accidents so you don't fry anything. I really don't wanna damage this amazing amp.

Welcome to TalkBass!

The person who can give you the definitive answer to your question is @agedhorse. He's a design engineer at Mesa Boogie, and if I understand correctly he designed the WD-800. He posts often and his posts are insightful, informative, and always worth reading carefully. He should be able to clarify your understanding of the manual (and will probably make sure it gets updated so others don't have to ask the same question).

Thank you! Yes, I read some of his replies on the topic but he only said that the amp was protected and that phantom power wouldn't damage it. I didn't see anything about sustained use. Hopefully he can answer my question then if he sees this post :)

The DI's are fully phantom power protected, sustained as in forever.

Because this comes up often, we even screen printed it above the DI jack!

Thanks! Yeah I saw that too... Probably a bit of a stupid question still but I just really wanted to make sure it was safe to function under those conditions regularly. It's my first serious amp so I'm a bit paranoid about damaging it. Thanks for taking time to calm my fears!
