After a lot of back and forth about what 2nd bass to buy, I'm on vacation in Italy and just picked up a used Cort B4 plus bass. Bartolini MK1 pickups. Really like it so far. Only issue I have now is that the D string (and to a lesser degree the G string) volume is lower than the E and A strings. I've been playing around with action and to some extent pickup heights with minor improvement.
My question: if I take the cover off the pickups, is there any individual magnet height or other per-string thing I can adjust? Or should I just try to get the D/G side of the pickups much closer to the strings than the E/A side? Or anything else?
