This is a seasonal necro thread. I checked, I already posted... last year. I still wear shorts, but no ball caps. I don't wear hats at all, but if I did definitely not a ball cap.

Wearing shorts on stage.

I always wear camo cargo shorts at gigs, but nobody in the hip hop and metal crowds seem to notice. Shoes are optional as well.
wear what feels comfortable.wear a dumbass hat if you want,turn up on a norton even.its music not a fashion show.
Listen, if a brother can't pull off looking good on stage with shorts, how can we, mere mortals,
expect to accomplish it?

BTW, I did not know Howard Scott of War played a Gibson SG Bass.

Playing at Gulf Coast beach resorts, facing the ocean, the crowd in bikinis and trunks. Yeah, I wear shorts for those gigs. Or my thong.
Shorts? Yup. At the very least one of us on any given gig. Note: even Jake at the B3 is wearing shorts.

Thankfully, no one has posted pics of Flea in tube socks ... yet...
But as Mellowgerman has shown, girls can wear shorts and look good on stage as performers, guys most often look like "shoppers at Walmart on a Saturday", as one TB described.
It's the same in social dance scenes, tango, salsa, swing. Women look great in shorts and skirts, guys look like schlubs in shorts. Worst commonly found combo... shorts, black socks and black dancing shoes... We guys will do well to wear thin pants designed for hot summers. They exist, an can be bought. ;-)
For this summer, maybe it's time I finally get some thin white pants... for gigs in the heat... very caribbean.

I'm in a punk band and I wear a sky blue leisure jacket and shorts or a skirt(even tho I'm a guy) and a pink hat from the 90s that says marko island on it and I could give a **** less what people think oh and chucks can't forget the most important part
