Double Bass Weight of cabs and relationship to performance

I'm just interested in an update of your amp/cab choices in the past few months. I currently use the AI Coda (older series II) and since the series III have come out I've been interested in seeing what other options exist. Have you made any headway in your search? thanks!

PS This was really a great "I want a light amp that does sound major-ly bad thread." I think it was very informative of different options and opinions.

Just for your information, now here in Italy the main trend with the small portable rig issue , particularly for the double bassists, is with

- Acoustic Image Focus head
- MarkBass amps and combos
- ATS Epifani or ACME cabinets

even if historical trademarks are regularly followed

I ended up with a LDS 3-way 1x8 and an AI Focus 2. I'm actually not entirely happy with the speaker cabinet both the sound and the weight although I'll take it over a down-firing AI cab anyday. I'm waiting to see what happens with the proposed EA NM-208 (see another thread around here).
