Weird Al SHREDS live!!!

Weird Al Yankovic and his band rule! I saw him in concert years ago, probably during 1996. It was easily one of the most entertaining concerts I watched.
For me, the show had everything... solid musicianship from him and each of his band members, comedy, including split-second full costume changes between songs. I grew up listening to his music & was singing along with pretty much all the tunes. He is a fantastic vocalist as well... listen to the vocal harmonies in Frank's 2000" TV.

Saw Al TONIGHT (5/26) in Marion OH. Best show I have ever seen, and I have seen plenty of shows. About 2 1/2 hours of music -- no intermission. All of their costume changes were done under cover of some very funny video, and also a lot of video of TV shows/movies in which Al is referenced as the unique pop culture icon he is. Pure genius, great singer, great showmanship, great band with over-the-top talent.
Meh, not my thing. Too mechanical. I'll give him one thing, though, he's got the chops.
Anyone could do that with enough practice. Making it musical is a whole other thing.

ahh yes, but you see, he can shred his way through PAGES of music when he really gets going. some would call it 'tearing it up'
I've been a fan of Al's for around 25 years.
I think one of my favorite parts though was a drum solo they did years ago.
Al shouts "DRUM SOLO!!!" and the drummer just freezes for a second. Stands up. Picks up a cymbal off the stand. Walks to the edge of the raised stage section that he was performing from, raises it so it's parallel to the ground, then drops it.
