Double Bass Weird Problem with LR Baggs and Fishman Combo

Hi Everyone,
Before i run my bass into the shop I wanted to get some opinions from you the experts. I have a Fishman FC PU, on my bass running through a LR BAggs para DI, into the pre amp in on a Ampeg head. It was working fine, then all of a sudden i heard a crackling noise and now the Pickup is DEAD, no out put nothing. I dont see any loose wires and I havent jerked the cord on accident or anything that would come to mind. I know the LR and the Fishman's Impedance are a match at 10 mohms, so what could of happened? the pickup never gave me any issues before. Do they just 'quit' working. this is the first one I have ever owned. Help.....

Obvious places to start;

Check the nine volt battery in the Baggs. It acts funny when the juice gets low.

Make sure you have that little master gain knob on the input face of the Baggs turned up some as well as the over gain that's on the main control panel.

Also if you have a tuner plugged into the effects loop input it cuts the signal to the output (unless you use a stereo cable?).

Check all of the female jacks on the pu as well as the Baggs to see if they have become loose in any way. Nut can loosen up easily and cause crackling , signal probs etc.

Maybe a problem w/ that little wire coming out of the adjuster of the FC.
I'm always paranoid that that will fail when I'm adjusting string height.
I try not to touch it at all.
