So this bass is Ollie Reidel from Rammsteins signature Sandberg california, can anyone guess any reason why He would want this done to His headstocks? What's it supposed to be? "I'm super ****** at using a string winder" ??
LOL

I’ve seen this so often on instruments that don’t have the Saf T post hole and slot, so I don’t hate it exactly.
if you just cram uncut string through the slot sideways and wind you kinda-sorta do that.

It was fashionable for a minute to leave your guitar strings long and danglin’ enough to put a few eyes out.

I thought this was going to be another thread about Nikki Sixx' finger anchor on the bridge.

To be honest that was my first guess as well.

In either case, it's THEIR signature bass, and I think on the whole it's pretty cool. If Fender asked me to come up with a signature bass, I'd probably just ask them to make the squier series again. But I'm not "Fender asking me to come up with a signature bass" big... or at least I wasn't the last time I checked my e-mail, I'm still waiting on that one ;)
