Double Bass Weird sound acoustically

When I play my DB, I am getting a strange sound that I would say sounds almost like fretbuzz on a guitar. I have experienced this with electric basses when amplified and the speaker was being choked, however I have neither frets, nor amplification. This happens on predominantly my A string, and the E slightly less. I don't notice it as much on the D & G. It happens whether open or fingered. The strings are old, bridge slightly warped, and is in need of good setup and repair. I know I need to get it to a luthier, but cashflow is putting that off until refund time. Has anybdy experienced this type of thing, and what would cause this problem? Thank you for your input.

Thanks drurb. I thought at first it may be echo from the wall I was facing, but that's not the case. Like I said I really need to get it into a luthier. It is a fully carved instrument that is currently playable, it has just been neglected for almost 40 years. Now I am playing it regularly, and the wood is waking up, and all these problems are starting to come about.
