Hahah so It is you! Good to meet you in person then (in a sense lol). I loved those covers and actually Alva, and personally I think your Fretted on was closer to Jaco's, but I liked the Fretless one better because It was different and also showcased your skill more (I noticed your Bongo doesnt have markers). Either way both are great :P

I'm having a slight problem with my H/S 5. If I raise the single coil enough that it makes a good thumb rest (read, @ stock height), the strings will smash the pole pieces while I'm playing. Making nasty noises through the amp. I dropped the pickup slightly (1.5 full turns on each screw) and the problem subsided, but now I've lost my comfy thumbrest (which I definitely NEED). Any suggestions, anyone ? Drilling holes in the bass, for a fender type thumb rest, is out of the question.

I suppose that raising the strings using the bridge saddles instead of lowering the pickup will result in a pretty high action for your taste?

Well I've been inactive on the TB forums for a couple of years, so you can imagine how happy I was to find out that a Bongo club existed :hyper:

First up is my Bongo 5 HH Candy Apple Red Ltd. Ed. that I acquired over a year ago. This is my main working axe.

Fun fact: As far as I know, me and fellow danish bassplayer Kaspar Vadsholt are the only Bongo owners in Denmark.

Why thank you very much. As much as I hate to admit, I did get it at Guitar Center in Memphis, Tennessee for about half price. I looked at it and thought, "Wow, she's gorgeous! Egh, it's an Ernie Ball though." So I picked it up and played it... like butter, it was actually set-up. That's when I realized that the EBMM factory setups are just crap, these instruments are meant to be personally tailored. I love it! I'd like to get a four-string version too. Maybe Egyptian Smoke, or the Solid Black like the first post.:hyper:

Alvaro, I didn't even consider the photobucket deal. Is it as simple as inputting the actual web address of the photo?

You must create a (free) account, so you will be able to upload your pictures to Photobucket. After uploading, you'll see four different codes below the picture's thumbnail. Paste the IMG code (the last one) in your message and that's it. The image will appear at actual size in your post.

If you go to the EBMM bass forum- sorry, I can't find which thread, but do a search, there's a number of different suggested approaches. The one that made the most sense to me was to (1) obtain a 2nd aftermarket pickguard, (2) get a thumbrest, (3) locate the position for the thumbrest, (4) drill two holes through the 2nd pickguard, screw the thumbrest down from the inside out, and then sandwich it on top of the 1st, OEM, pickguard. It's non-invasive (except for the sacrificed aftermarket 2nd pickguard) and apparently quite stable.
