Double Bass Well...I laughed.

I swear I'm not actively looking for these; they just keep appearing in front of me.

I wonder how much of the criticism of accordians is the instrument itself versus polkas and its variants.

There's almost as many jokes about banjos and accordions as there are about being married. Speaking of:
A famous theater actor has been trying to get into TV for years, but he's always viewed as being a "theater star" so no luck. But one day, out of the blue, his agent gets a call from a famous TV producer who wants the actor to come in and audition for a show he's working. The actor meets the producer who tells him that the part is a older husband, who's been married for 30 years. The actor was crestfallen. He explained, "Oh, I was hoping for a speaking role."

I don't usually consider myself someone lacking imagination, but I NEVER saw this coming. I think this puts an end to disparaging bagpipes. Bela kinda saved the banjo. Thile, the mandolin. Collier, the melodica. A guy in Germany saved the accordion for me. Toots, the whistle. The only instruments still on the list are the tambourine, the cowbell, the saw, and the kazoo. Consider this notice of the challenge!
