Hey guys im sure some of you invested thousands of dollars in gear(myself included) but how many you actually feel like the money was well spent and you gig regularly, compared to just playing around the house???
me personally i wish i had more opportunities to play bass but being a keyboardist fulltime and working fulltime it takes away from me being able to play bass, sometimes i ask myself why did i buy all this stull

Last year, around this time, I made the decision to upgrade my equipment to support my band.

We are an acoustic band and I was playing an acoustic bass through my little Hartke 25. At the time, we were playing for food and drink at a local burrito eatery. My "rig" was sufficient and we had no prospects for any other gigs. But then we were told we weren't needed anymore at the eatery.

We weren't going to break up and we all wanted to keep gigging, so I decided to upgrade. I sold the acoustic bass and bought my Squier and Rumble 200. I figured that would suffice for the types of places we expected to be playing at. I spent about $900 for the bass, case and amp.

Since then, we have been gigging at least twice a month, sometimes more. Since then, my income from gigging has paid for my investment 2-3 times over. In fact, just this year so far, it would have paid for it.

We certainly don't make a lot at what we do, but yeah, it's been well worth the money.
