Wenge Neck Basses

Yeah, I've never understood that either...

Rosewood isn't expensive, looks decent, is common and known. The majority of bassists especially those who don't frequent this board or similar play predominantly Fender style instruments, so known and accepted are good for marketing. They're my guesses as to why.

Warwick no longer uses wenge for their necks.

Most WW necks still have wenge fingerboard.

I think he was referring to the fact that WW necks are ovankol w/wenge fingerboards now, instead of the older WW necks that are completely wenge neck w/wenge board.

What about a full wenge / wenge neck on a Fender J?

Seems like an interesting experiment. Buy a Rondo J and a Warmoth neck.
