I did play a used Honeyburst Nitro at a GC on vacation about a year ago. I almost bought it, really like the feel & tone.
Had I not already had a P bass I would have have & had it shipped.

If that is a new MIA P that is already a sale price. Those coupons typically don't work on sale items or used items or certain brands. If you can get a brand new MIA p for less than 900 more power to you, but I would confirm the price/discount before I got too excited. Good luck!

I play my Nitro more than my Standards. Seems a bit lighter and the neck is smooth and slinky. But they're all good, the choice is personal.
GC will offer you about 25% of street value of your uses bass. If it's really nice they may go up to 40%. They rarely offer 50%.

You are looking at 100 trade. I had an 03 mim p i was looking to trade in they offered me 100 i sold it the next day for 250... id go with the nitro finished one if i had to choose.

i don't think GC is doing stacked discounts any more, at least according to guys at a couple different stores. they will do either the holiday discount or the trade in discount, but if the sales guys i talked to are to be believed, you can no longer do both. too bad - when i bought my taylor GC8 acoustic, stacking the discounts brought it down from $2400 to $1600.
maybe you'll get lucky, though - it never hurts to try, and if they do give you the additional discount, that would mean you get $150 cash value plus the money off the trade in instrument, which really means you'd be getting more for your trade-in than just the $150.

You will get $150-200 for your P and it will be marked at $300-$350. Make sure that Am Std is not on sale as a coupon won't stack on that. $1100 sounds like a sale price to me.
GC offers crap on trades but sometimes it's the easiest way to get rid of items you no longer need. That said, GC won't give you the 20% AND a trade in. It's one or the other, so choose wisely.
From a purely economic standpoint, it's hard for me to get excited about a 20% coupon at GC when they turn right around and throw my 8.25% tax right back in my face.
It's a toss up at that point - do I 1. Pick the model that I want from my GC visit and then negotiate a better, tax-free price with MF, or 2. Pay the % more in the difference to walk out of the store with an instrument in hand?
From what everyone said on the trade, I'd sell it myself, pocket the difference and then go from there. I know GC used to have a trade-in/15% off new program, not really sure if that's worth it for you.

GC does give an additional discount with trades; I think it's 15% and it doesn't stack with other discounts. So you get the 15% plus the value of your trade-in.
Where did you get the coupon? I get mailings from them, but haven't seen this 20% thing yet.

It's on their website, they will text you a link. It's only for specific items, but you might get lucky if you get the right salesperson.
Then make sure you go back to the same salesman when you buy. Doesn't mean he'll honor what he told you, but it's your best chance.

Call or go in and ask... Fender and Markbass are always excluded - but I've always been given the dicount when I've purchased them.
