Westworld ***spoiler alert***

The theory videos on youtube are basically a mess but I have to say this is pretty compelling based on the visual alone:
I don't know what it would add to the story but the similarity of their faces and names can't be denied.

I don't like the direction the show is going. A robot rebellion and bloody war with humans? No thanks.
The MiB is now played out, and everyone already knew he was William. Whippee.
We spent all those weeks building up to the Maeve escape, then she changes her mind over a misconception she has a child? Didn't they tweak all her programming so she'd know what is true? Come on already.
Watching Maeve walk through the building untouched with Lutz while Hector and the snake lady mowed down human after human who didn't seem to know how to fire a gun? Come on already.
Samurai World looks cool though.
Now, I'll likely let this one fade off into the sunset and read about what happens in season two, whenever they decide to air that.

Yeah. Color me underwhelmed. The show had an interesting premise and was mildly entertaining but overly complicated for its' own good. On the bright side, Anthony Hopkins was brilliant. Someone up thread doubted that we'd see him for a second season and they may have called it but you never know in a world where they can simply just build a Ford host or go back in time. 
Finally, Exit Music for a Film during the last scene was great!

I loved the old Battlestar Galactica. When the new series came out, I didn't have TV, but someone loaned me a boxed set of a series. It had some redeeming qualities but I eventually got tired of being strung along.
And the final straw was that asian girl that turned out to be a cylon. She had the capacity to get pregnant by a human. i.e. she WAS A HUMAN.
The end just kept dragging on. I was watching on my Roku, so I had no sense on when it would end, but there were a few spots as it started winding it when I thought it was over, then it just kept going.

Meanwhile, I learned of a show called Firefly, bought the entire series and have the whole thing memorized now. Great characters. Great dialog. Great stories. And they can be watched in any order.
I've heard about that show, but never got into it.
I limit the amount of time I spend in front of a TV. With NHL hockey and college football going on right now, I don't have anymore time to add to the list of things I watch.
Westworld is over, but Vikings just started. I'll be good for a few months now. Maybe later.

Dude. Watch Firefly. One of the greatest TV shows of any genre. All the episodes are on Netflix as well as the movie Serenity. I'm kinda jealous of your opportunity to watch it for the first time. There are so few episodes and I've seen them so many times it'll be years before I can watch it again.

For me it was better. I went to a blockbuster to rent it and the guy behind the counter was a fan. He said I needed to see at least one episode of the series before watching the movie. I ended up renting one disk and then buying the series and watching it before I watched the movie.
How long are the host's loops? William goes off looking for Dolores after Logan stabbed her in the gut and he begins his transformation into the man in black right. So then he sends Logan off on the horse naked (to where?) Then he goes back to the town and Dolores is back on her loop dropping the can. So how long is the loop? A few days? Anyhoo, I liked the finale but Dolores' constant weeping is really getting kinda old.
I'm psyched for next season. It'll probably have more action since the mysteries are pretty much out of the way and the fit has hit the shan. Maybe Anthony Hopkins will be back in a limited capasity. I'm guessing he put his consciousness into a host.

Not exactly an answer to what you're asking about loops, but I thougt I'd suggest that Logan's death is the "critical failure" that happened over 30 years ago (from the old Ford-timeline) that was mentioned in an earlier episode. I can't very well refer to Arnold's death since it's been shrouded in mystery and rumours about suicide up until Ford's reveal.
I'm okay with the season's conclusion overall, but it did bother me that the show was a lot slower than its audience when it came to connecting William with the MiB characters. That was WAY too slow. They left too many clues along the way about the multiple timelines. Hopefully they won't have to dumb down the next season.
I figure the critical failure would be Dolores killing Arnold, no? And all the other hosts for that matter.
Oh, and MIB recovered from what looked like a compound fracture pretty quickly. Though it is in the future so who knows how fast their medical science can heal that. He took it like a champ though.
Arnold being killed may be it, but I think it's weird that it's not common knowledge how he died if the critical failure is common knowledge. I also don't get why Dolores "killing" the other hosts was anything special (except in the ritualistic sense) or a "critical failure" - don't they get killed all the time? Isn't that just a big part of what they do?
I think the critical failure is something everyone at the company knew happened but didn't know the details. And Dolores and Teddy killing all the hosts happened before the park opened to the public so something like two of the hosts killing all the others was a pretty big deal in the days leading to the grand opening.
Either way it seems to me the finale sorta cleaned the slate for the second season. All the mystery and history is out of the way now and season two can focus on dealing with whatever is next.
