I thought that finale was horrible. It pretty much killed any interest in the show that I had. I like Terminator as much as the next guy but I didn't start watching this show to see a war between humans and robots. I am sure I will tune in for season two and see what happens but I am certainly not as excited for the next episode as I was two weeks ago.

Necro-post. I just finished binge-watching Season 1.
I know this series is cerebral, to put it mildly, and introduces a plethora of questions about the meaning of existence, life, self-awareness, and the boundaries in between, not to mention a lot of moral and ethical quandaries. The hosts' brand of consciousness has an
Inception-like quality, and you really had to stay on your toes to follow the twists and turns along the way. Most of them were worth the effort, such as William's true nature.
But the S1 finale just heaped it on way too thick and really stretched the limits of credibility. Dolores remains a supreme mystery to me, now that we know she is also Wyatt (?), as does the death of Ford. Evidently, despite a valiant effort, Maeve is not free at all. I've never seen a season finale tarnish an otherwise enjoyable viewing experience quite that badly before. Maybe I'm a tad too literal and not appreciating the magical mystical philosophical qualities suddenly being introduced rapid-fire. I will catch the first few episodes of S2, but they have some serious explaining and plot ironing to do in order to get this thing just a bit more grounded and keep me interested.
Now if that season finale was actually a series finale, that might be easier to accept.
