Whammy V vs Bass Whammy. Anybody compared them already?

Hands down the Bass Whammy is worth it. I have had a Whammy II, a Whammy V AND the ORIGINAL Bass Whammy and they all are CRUSHED by the new Bass Whammy. No contest. The original Bass Whammy warbles horribly, but until about a month ago it was one of the best options hands down.

The Whammy V does not have certain Harmony settings that the Bass Whammy does, and no where near the tracking ability. The Whammy V will be able to track as low as an A, but will start to warble on a G.

Again, if you want a Whammy, go with a Bass Whammy. It replaced my original Bass Whammy in five minutes and every time I play it, I'm elated. Digitech annihilated any doubts I had about the reissue.

Thanks for your reply! I'll certainly go with Bass Whammy than.

Excellent, have also owned all the previous variations (with the original Bass Whammy being the worst). Love the Whammy V and was on the fence about whether I should make a loss on selling it to fund the new Bass Whammy.

Anyone able to describe how the tone is better on the new Bass Whammy vs. the Whammy V? (Not the previous versions ;) )

I'm telling ya, it smokes the Whammy V. The harmonies are better, in CHORDS mode it tracks surprisingly well, and it just handles the lows better. I tried a Whammy V when it first came out and it just did not do it for me. I thought the original Bass Whammy was better than the Whammy V, simply due to how the tracking of the low notes was better, plus the one or two harmony settings that I actually use and love the Bass Whammy for are not included on the V.

I say take the financial loss, but enjoy the tonal gain.

AND the blue looks way cooler than the red.

Many thanks for your post!

Had the chance to A/B the Whammy V and Bass Whammy for a while today and found the V is still better for me.
Think for anyone that doesn't own a Whammy already, the Bass version is a great option. The only downside I found was that some of the harmonies were less distinct (or softer in volume) in the Bass Whammy. Tracking and tonality weren't of a big enough improvement to warrant making the financial step up for me.

Ooooooh, did like the new soft touch switch on the Bass Whammy though and naturally does look cool in Blue!
