What’s the cheapest bass you’ve been/are amazed with?

For me, it’s a 6 month used Squier Affinity PJ which I bought strung with flat wounds !

It plays great and sounds better then what I could imagine.

Any other nice finds you feel like sharing?

Two basses I have been amazed with.

I set up a Rogue Series II bass 5 string to mess around with. I put on Dunlop strings, adjusted the action, fixed the intonation, and the bass felt great. Only thing about that bass is the knobs, but I got around with it due to how amazing the tone is on it.

The second bass was a Ibanez Soundgear GIO. I am not a fan of the current Soundgear branding of Ibanez, but I do love the tone on that bass. Crazy enough - it has one pickup. It sounds better than some basses i've played before, I just need to setup the Ibanez's action and get some new strings and she's good.

Ibanez Talman TMB100M has a maple neck. Got it for $160 and it is amazing.

Pretty much any Ibby SR for the price point - love my SR600 with an Ash body.

I did get an 84' Roadstar II RB850 (with the twin buckers) for helping a guy move, and it's in really great shape.

ibanez GSR100EX. i wasn't expecting much of anything from it. it turns out to sound really good and feel evem better. i'm quite liking it.

my green mikro. it was b stock, sounds better than my other mikros, has a smooth neck and it's just nice.

Yamaha RB170. Bought it with a 20w Drive amp as a package for like $179. That was at least 10 years ago. What a value! Not as pretty as an Ash SRX, I'll admit to that

The USA Peavey Millennium Plus that I had was amazing, especially since I didn’t pay over about $400 for it. The Classic Vibe P and J’s still amaze me at how nice they feel and play.

I just picked up an Epiphone Embassy from a fellow TB fella who filed the fret ends. I really can’t believe how much I love it. I think I might prefer it to my Grabber and MIA P
