Unfortunately, my favourite Stainless Steel roundwounds are now out of production... namely Fender 7350M's. , And my stockpile is dwindling!
I did try some NOS Elites Stadiums (got them cheap), but they just didn't cut through as the Fenders did. Ordered some Dunlop DBS Stainless Steel's, in the hope that they sound similar to the Fenders.
Why do I like the Fender strings?
They sounded great, bright, growly & lasted for at least 6 months with no noticeable fall off in sound. Best of all, they were relatively inexpensive compared to other brands (and make it less of a hit when buying in bulk).
I did use Warwick Red Label Stainless, which were cheaper, lasted a similar amount of time, sounded pretty good too, but they were quite rough on the fingers. Would buy them again though.
I bought a 5 string set of Warwick strings since they were on clearance. Unfortunately I didn’t really pay attention to the packaging! It was a red package. They sound incredible! Even after they have tamed down the have a great sound with a very full deep bass. I’m assuming these are the stainless. Wish I’d bought more!
