My 1976 Rickenbacker 4001 that I bought used in 1982.
In 1989 I found this NOV 7 51 body [Cincy] and 11-55 neck [Louisville]. I added custom chrome plated brass bridge saddles made by my dad to a '55 bridge plate, a Seymour Duncan Stinger Stack, which I assembled into what became my #1 bass for the last 34 years.
Currently working on a 2nd original recording project, this time using this bass exclusively. It sounds amazing on a variety of musical styles.

66 precision bass sold my others, 66 Ampeg Scroll, 73 Rickenbacker 53/70 fender P bass Tele Bass and one other 66 P bass in great shape. I didnt count my 47 Kay upright.

My oldest is a 1968 (I think) Gibson EB-2d. I got it used in 1982 after owning a couple other bass guitars. It was my only bass for close to 30 years. Then I discovered TalkBass in 2010 and acquired an arsenal. It is mostly retired now, but it won't be going anywhere. It is like an old friend.
I like that photo with the balalaika: "Just wait till I'm grown up and have four strings!"

My oldest in the current arsenal is a 1994 Stingray 4H 3-band, purchased new. My oldest ever was a 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 Fireglo that was absolutely beautiful, but I sold it in the mid-90's, in part to help pay the credit card bill from the Stingray.

In about 1983, I bought a used Fender parts bass (body a Jazz, '73 I think, neck a P, 75 I think). The clear body finish was trashed, so after about 30 years, I refinished, put a vintage style bridge on it, and had put a detuner on the E.

My 1986 Black Ibanez Roadstar II. It is now fretless. I don't think I have any pictures of it unfortunately. I bought it brand new with lawn mowing money!

Original owner of my 1983 924DS Ibanez Musician. Bought in 1984 from Sam Ash in Hempstead NY. I have 8 basses (Steinberger Spirit -> Alembic). Occasionally pickup the Musician and love it every time.
Oldest is a circa 1992 Warmoth bass I built with me dad when I was 16 years old. 6 string fretless. Maple body, 5 piece maple neck, custom barts, 9v tone circuit.
Second oldest is a 2003 Warwick Corvette 5.
