The Ibanez GVB36 has 14mm spacing at the bridge.

My bad. 18 mm is correct.

It does have a very narrow nut at 1.69 inches

I Had a Schecter Stiletto Deluxe 5. That was 16.5 and unplayable for me. I was my first 5er and I didn't know any better.

For me, 18mm is the tightest I can tolerate. 19 - 20mm is preferred. YMMV.

Really? My Hohner B2V, which is essentially the 80's version of the same is 16.5mm (I measured it). If you have one would you mind throwing a ruler across it as I was going to get an XT25 sometime later to string E-C to hold me off until I build my 6 string Woodberger later in the year.

I think the Cort A5 SCMS (single cut, multi scale) bass is 16mm at the bridge. The one I played a few weeks ago felt really tight, even more so than an Ibanez SR 5er.

I'm using High C tuning on my Lakland 55-94 and had it on my 55-02 and find the string spacing ideal.

I used an Ibanez SR405 E-C for years worked well for me.
I am using an Ibanez SR1206 E-F these days and that's working out good as well.
