What 5 string should I buy next?

I am looking into buying my first 5 string bass. I own a 4 string Warwick corvette std but I want to make the transition into the 5 string basses. I LOVE WARWICK but THEY ARE SO DAMN EXPENSIVE EVEN USED!!!:mad::mad: What is a good bass that is a 5 string I can buy. I am looking for these characteristics:

1.)Good all around bass, I specifically play progressive metal however.
2.)Comfortable feel and easy to take care of
3.)Good tone
4.)Easy to learn 5 string on
5.)500-700 dollar price tag, used price is included

Any recommendations are a big help. My number one choice would be a Warwick thumb 5 if I could find one for that price (knock on wood), but I need more choices. Thanks!

ESP Ltd F-5E or B-5E with fitted esp case. Also Jackson JS3V for most aggressive voice with real real good articulation and detail. or the Jackson CBXV version for a bit tamer but still very good sound. Plus case. In used, a BCRich NJ or NT 5 string warlock, or WMB 5 string Widow. New the BC Richs would be right at your limit price wise. (699)Case not included. If you want an excellent double buck like bass, and willing to settle for 4 string. (Perhaps do BEAD), the BC Rich ST Mockingbird is worth a look to imo. Id say the 5 string spalted maple neck thru paulo warlock, with active emg humbuckers would great to. But finding one used is doubtfull as theyre a pretty new model. Itd be nice if they released a fiver bolt on version like the 4 string one. Its best sounding passive and humbucker pup equipted bass Ive heard for my sound.

You may yet get lucky enough to score a used warwick corvette fiver in your price range though. Thatd prob be ideal choice for you.

I'm not a five string player, but I've played a few that were really nice. A friend of mine owns a Peavey Cirrus and the neck is to die for - very fast, and aggressive tone paired with her Ampeg.

The G&L Tribute L2500s get good reviews on TB, but I've never played one - they're up for sale in the Classifieds from time to time.

Lots of choice!

Just going on personal experience.... I like my BTB555 paid $285 used with a HSC in near mint condition. My Cirrus Bolt-On cost me $650 as a NOS. My Ibanez ATK305 was $185 in a MF/M123 blowout sale. All three of these are awesome basses in their own way, and I wouldn't want to have to part with any of them.

My wish list contains the aforementioned Brubaker Brute and L2500. Shop wisely, the world is your oyster!
