I don't suffer from to much treble with the SPB-3. But yes, there is a more treble from your pickup. Also more bass.
The SPB-3 gives a more scooped sound than your standard P pickups.

I like the more treble, let's you work on your technique more.
I like the upper harmonics.

It's what also works for Steve Harris.

Your parents won't let you buy new strings or won't buy you new strings?

Either way, explain to them that if you are going to stick with music and this isntrument there are some collateral expenses that come along with it. Buying new strings is part of the game. They might very well be impressed that you want to stick with it and take it seriously. Just explain that with a couple more sets on their dime you will soon be a rockstar and will have a 6' big boobie blonde chick to get your strings for you. In other words, try to dazzle them with mature sounding BS, and if that fails try humor.

they already know im gonna stick with it (i practice several hours a day and have some good gigs a year, in the near future with my band too!!!) but i just bought the pups and a new cable and they say i should keep my money for other things...:crying:

Bummer man. Could be worse though, they could steal your cables like my dad used to do to keep me from "practicing" plugged in. Can't say I blamed him. You might need the money for other stuff, but one way or another you will need new strings at some point. Might as well get em now and throw em on before they notice.

Come on now! If you want to be a rocker you gotta improvize, adapt and overcome. Hitch to the music store (sort of punk rock), steal the credit card and give them the cash money when its too late (pretty punk rock) or steal the car and the credit card, go to the music store and steal the strings and then get some guy to buy you a handle of cheap booze (super punk rock). Rebellion is the fuel of all the music you will create before you are 21.

just 10 km?? I've got an advice for you that my father said to me.

'' You've got feet and a bike. So get on your bike and get me some Pepsi on the way back home!''

Followed by '' Here's 10$ and get yourself a chocolate bar and one for me too!''

So the moral of the story. Carrots sucks, chocolate bar plus Pepsi rocks.

The other moral of the story is to use your feet.
