What Amplifier Specifications Do You Feel Is Beneficial?

That's interesting to me because I don't think I've ever dimed any EQ knob/slider. I've certainly un-dimed extreme lows or extreme top end though, as well as to notch out an occasional offending feedback/booming frequency.

I'm not afraid to boost that much, but I guess I usually like the inherent voicing of the amps/cabs I play with enough that a change that radical wouldn't appeal to me.

As for gain, I'm a fairly clean player so enough break-up that I get warmth through natural compression and some added harmonics is about all I go for. I always wondered if anyone used that last 30-40% I never get to on a gain control....now I know! :)
It depends on the band, for me. With Dustern I don't use such extreme settings (I leave the D-180's graphic EQ off), but with Catapult they work well.

A complete schematic and bill of materials.;)

Good for a laugh, but that's exactly what some manufacturers that specialize in copying popular products would REALLY appreciate ;)

These days. as a result of trade globalisation and robotic built amps, some manufacturers have opted not to provide replacement PCB's or specialised components as a matter of selling policy

Others only hold spares until their spares stocks are exhausted

It is frustrating when servicing an amp not to have a schematic or a Bill of Materials to help easily identify how the device works or identify unmarked individual components. The absence of a schematic causes extra time and cost to be expended, which is not productive

Some manufacturers are happy to provide this information but some still live in the past where they think they are the only people in the world who can work out a schematic by examining the PCB and wiring, measuring voltages and currents throughout and generally assessing circuit performance

Anyone expert in amp design can do that in a flash

The amazon.com spanish language website openly displays the factories where fake copies are made in foreign lands. Those factories managed to figure out the designs and produce clones or fakes (externally identical but internally different) all by themselves

Check out your favourite amp and discover the numerous versions of the same amp available from amazon

RATED power output in Watts. RATED power means the figure can be verified under specified industry standard test conditions

Distortion at Rated Power

Maximum Output Voltage (rms) and (peak)

Minimum safe load impedance for rated service - eg " continuous, program or duty cycle"

It is important to regard the amplifier as a separate component to the Preamp because some amps have inbuilt preamps and some do not

Preamp sections can include all manner of effects which change the output sound dramatically but in ways which cannot be easily measured or compared other than subjectively. The "Pedal" industry shows the myriad of creative options available for manipulating the original signal
