What amps are you using for post-rock?

Just curious about what amps are TBers using for this kind of music.

EDIT: after seeing the first reply, I'll give some examples of this post-rock thingy. I'm talking about bands like Mogwai, And So I Watch You From Afar, Explosions In The Sky, Russian Circles etc. If you play that kind of music, please post your rig!

I hate labels, but that's how bands like Mogwai, And So I Watch You From Afar, Explosions In The Sky are defined. It's basically purely instrumental music with drums, bass and guitars.

You can get by with just about anything.. it depends on what kind of feel you want from your amp. I've seen a lot of bassists in the genre use GK heads from the RB series... I had one and hated it for this style. I use a lot of pedals, especially overdrive and delay/reverb, and they just sound terrible going into a solid state preamp. My two amps right now are a Trace Elliot V-Type, and a Traynor YBA-1 (90 watt). I also find that 12 inch speakers sound much better with this type of music than 10s.

I'm pretty much set in buying a warm sounding head and an LDS 2x15+2x6.5 mid drivers. I was just curious about what other people are using. Thanks for the advice though!

It's basically rock. Anything goes. I'd probably avoid the side of the spectrum of super clean transparent rigs and go warm/colored/vintage.

I saw Mogwai just this year and Dom was playing through a standard SVT classic through an 8x10. For what i play with my solo/looping project i'm using a Peavey VB-2. I really think anything can work as long as its flexable. Get something solid state and then you can afford more pedals
