They don't really need to be difficult, but, just fun to play, such as Hazy Shade of Winter (Bangles version), Welcome Home (Coheed and Cambria), Crazy Train (Ozzy Osbourne), Sweet Child O Mine (Guns n Roses). To name a few. Try to avoid riffs that use chords/ too many multiple strings.
Been playing long? Try some Rush. Geddy's riffs are a lot of fun to play, and you'll develop some good chops along the way.
"Feel Good, Inc." - Gorillaz "Leave It" - Yes "Parallels" - Yes "Knock on Wood" - Eddie Floyd "In the Meantime" - Space Hog (although this one uses a LOT of neck)
I always liked Zepplin's, Dazed and Confused, and from the Jimi Hendrix Blues album, Jelly 292. The riffs walk around multiple strings, but the structure of the riffs is great for learning.
Ya, I've been playing for about a year now, I listen/play things more difficult than this, just listing off some fun songs to play. Lately, I've been working on My Last Words by Megadeth, and I might try to look at La Villa Strangato soon.
Frankenstein by The Edgar Winter Group is really fun and simple, plus is a good way to get used to more difficult song forms instead of difficult riffs.
My mega list of fun Geddy lines: - Circumstances lead in to the chorus (fast way to check volume/tone across all strings) - Tom Sawyer solo section - The Trees post first acoustic verse - Territories second part of verse - Distant Early Warning verse - Vital Signs verse - Show Don't Tell intro and verse - Xanadu bridge - Free Will solo - The Enemy Within verse - The Camera Eye bridge (C# to C) - Red Barchetta all of it - Marathon verse Ok, maybe not a mega list. But most of these should be doable and are fun ways to loosen up and stretch out a bit.
tazer crazy... FiVE-0 | Portland, OR | Alternative / Pop Punk / Crunk | Music, Lyrics, Songs, and Videos | ReverbNation B D F# intro and verse... palm mute for some parts. I switch it up and play the d on the 10th fret on the e because it makes the palm muting part easier. Then chorus is E A F# X3 on the last time it goes E D E G G# A A# B then right back into the verse
I really love Led Zeppelin, and here's some songs I enjoy to play Black Dog The Lemon Song Moby Dick How many more times Heartbreaker Dazed and Confused We're gonna groove "Cadillac assembly line" by Albert King is also a song that's easy and fun to play
Great call, and if I may be so bold, go for the version on Get Your Ya Ya's Out.....IMHO, pretty much every track on that LP is the definitive version. A bud and I recently did a cover of Jumpin' Jack Flash, and it was a gas, gas, gas. Brian

"I Feel Good" by James Brown -- very fun, but challenging (and super-rewarding) to play in the pocket.
Great list, Digitalman...I would like to add "Leave That Thing Alone". One of my favs. Rush - Leave That Thing Alone ( Time Machine 2011 DVD ) - YouTube
