What are those sort of inlays for?

Hello I was just watching effects reviews over youtube and found a video for a Markbass Super Booster (awesome device by the way) and noticed that this guys bass has got some sort of chrome body inlays right next to the cutaway and was wondering if they had any real purpose, maybe they could be some kind of piezo device or something or if is just a cosmetic-protective thing or anything like that and as this is the first time I see that on any bass well came to TB to see if anyone has an idea about it, thanks.

You can clearly see them around 3:28 but he covers them right away with his thumb but you have a better look at them at 9:28.

The bass is Sandberg, those four chrome dots are their logo. On exotic top-models they are made from abalone.

Its a sandberg bass, those "inlays" are his logo I believe.

Nice! thank you very much! so it means that if I could understand german I would known that from the very beginning as he must have described his testing rig, lol.

Thanks guys! I learn one more thing today! wow and I am taking a look to their website (Sandberg's) and they have some nice looking stuff!

Sandbergs are really nice instruments, Holger & Co are doing a great job. That Basic Ken Taylor-model with exotic top is astonishing bass, my all time favorite Sandberg.
