What are you into right now?

At this moment in my playing career I'm just trying to be a little more improvisational. I play almost every weekend and sometimes when you don't get a chance to venture out you can kind of get in a rut. So I've been, for the last month or so, working more on my technique, sharpen my ability to be a little more spontaneous; I'm enjoying doing so, at that.:)

Today I have been listening to:

Vivaldi
Porcupine Tree
Holst
System of a Down
AFI
Queens of the Stone Age
Cake

Hmmm... it looks like a weird assortment when I write it down...

Doesn't seem like that strange of an assortment to me...but then again, I've covered Johnny Cash, Prince, Judas Priest, Joy Division, and Toad The Wet Sprocket all in one show, and I've had Chopin, Marilyn Manson, Siler's Bald(local christian acoustic group), Sun Ra, and the Sweeney Todd original Broadway cast recording in my 5 disc changer at the same time...on shuffle :D

Mr. Bungle- "Mr. Bungle" and "California"
Faith No More- "The Real Thing", "Angel Dust" and "KFADFFAL"
Anything Mike Patton does that I can find

Mighty Mighty Bosstones- "Don't Know how to Party", "Question the Answers" and "Let's Face It"--awsome ska basslines from Joe Gittleman

Primus- "Frizzle Fry", "Suck on This", "Sailing the Seas of Cheeze"--need I even comment on Les Claypool's original, refreshing approach in his early years

RHCP- "Uplift Mofo Party Plan", "Mother's Milk", "Blood Sugar Sex Majic"--Flea's early works are very inspirational to me

Giant - Song (if you like sludge/post metal check this out)
Leviathan - Tentacles of Whorror
His Hero is Gone - Monuments to Thieves
Godspeed you Black emperor - F#A#infinity

two of those are two of my favorite bands ever though so they're always in rotation in some form or another.
