I love climbing books!
I take it you've read Touching the void by Joe Simpson?
I've read a couple of Messner books as well, one about different ascents, then one about the Annapura (where he lost his brother iirc?) and a third one I forgot about.
I also read The Shining Mountain by Boardman, a carreer book by Chris Bonnington, a book by a Dutch climber about the first dutch ascent of the Everest, ehm...there's more I think.
Look behind the ranges by Hamish McInnes was excellent as well, about his hikes across the world.
Those books really stimulated my enthousiasm for hiking I have to say.
