She's 13 and had read them -- that was part of the embarrassment, since I'm always reminding them how much more important books are than movies. I did read them the Wizard of Oz when she was about 8 (she's the middle of our elder three). Hmmm I wonder how my son would like John Carter or Conan... he may be coming up to the age for it.

Awesome book. "The Greatest Show On Earth" where he sets about to prove the theory of evolution for the layman was also very good, some real interesting studies referenced.

Jack Bruce: Composing Himself. Apart from the inevitable trailing off near the end, as the narrative covers the late 80's - present, this is a very well crafted and told volume. Fascinating reading to say the least, and one that will finally confine its amateurish predecessor to oblivion for all time. Next is another side of the story - Ginger Baker's Hellraiser.

Yes compared to a human being, but no compared to other computer voices. It screws up words like "lives" and "bowed" because of their contexts and if "miss" is at the end of a sentence with a period, it says "Mississippi" but you get used to it and it actually does lend inflection to some sentences and really tries to sound less robotic.

Also TTS is disabled on certain books...apparently by publishers request but I think it also has something to do with Amazons audio book company 'Audible' as well. There are hacks to get around that though, PM me if you need that info.

I have the smaller one and its plenty large unless you read textbooks or want it to display sheet music.

The speakers are decent my roommate uses his in the car with just the speakers...personally I use headphones/my AUX jack and rarely use the speakers.

You can book mark anything, highlight and save excerpts to a personal notes section, look up words spontaneously in a virtual dictionary without leaving your book...It's got the cool functionality thing covered.

A Clockwork Orange. I had never seen nor read it (people that know me were shocked by this), so I bought the book, but one night with my friend, he insisted that I watch it that night. It's made reading the nadsat a lot easier...

I recently finished reading "I don't have enough faith to be an Atheist" by Frank Turok and Norm Geissler and "Alien Encounters the secret behind the UFO Phenomenon" by Chuck Missler and Mark Eastman.
