Hey TB I just picked up an old 80's peavey fury and the cat who sold it told me his buddy spent "$250" on a pickup upgrade but he didn't know what model:eyebrow:

I took it apart to scope out this mystery pickup. But it looks pretty stock to me. I could care less if they are stock because I hear the fury pickups are pretty solid themselves, but I'd like to be sure just on the off chance its some $250 hyper boutique P pickup :rollno:

That looks exactly like a MIM Fender Precision Standard pickup.

Flip it over- are there 2 small "bars" glued to the bottom of the bobbin? If so, those are ceramic magnets...and steel slugs. If I recall correctly, the resistance measured around 4.75k for the pair- very, very low for a P bass set!

Nope. The poles pieces are the real deal, should have mentioned that.


Id love for someone with a fury pickup to compare :help:
