I know it's the flavor of the month, but I really like my Bass Big Muff. The blend feature is great. I've had the Metal Muff and the Little Big Muff in the past. I prefer the Bass Big Muff over the three. I haven't tried any other fuzzes, unless you would consider a TurboRAT to be a fuzz.

I have an Earthbound Supercollider and a Zoom Ultra Fuzz...they're very different from each other, but they're both my favorite!

what do you like from the ultra fuzz? I have one, but can´t find a setting I like..

I'm surprised, since I can't find a setting that I don't like!

It has a flatter mid-range reponse than more typical fuzzes. I typically keep RESO all the way off, and TONE between 7:00 and 10:00. Everything else depends on what I'm going for...there's just a ton of different sounds available on the Zoom. Here's a couple of my favorite settings:

• My clean bass tone with just a bit of fur when I dig in:
  GATE - 7:00
  COLOR - 7:00
  GAIN - 9:00
  -
• Bigger, furrier, but still low-gain fuzz with good fundamnetal:
  GATE - 7:00
  COLOR - between 11:00 & 5:00
  GAIN - between 7:00 & 9:00
  -
• Thick, slightly glitchy gated fuzz:
  GATE - turn this up to 5:00, then (with everything else set) start backing off the GATE until unity volume is reached
  COLOR - between 11:00 & 5:00
  GAIN - between 11:00 & 5:00
  LEVEL - 5:00

Only use fuzz in conjunction with a filter, and/or octave, and the one I finally settled with is the ZVEX Fuzz Factory. There's nothing "natural" sounding with it, but as part of my synth tone,..perfection.

I like my El Grande for general sonic wreakage. For heavy artillery I use my Little Big Muff, sometimes in conjunction. I got a second one to use as an Apocalypse-inducer.
