My favorite (out of a LOT) is the Electronix MessDrive Hybrid. It's hard to beat, really.

+1 I just got a VFB-2 in last night, and it sounds amazing with my messdrive.

You might be confused, there are two models of Messdrive. There's the original one, in red, thats a pretty basic fuzz and iirc retails for 80 or so and the Messdrive Hybrid+ thats orange and goes for 120. The Hybrid is WAY more versatile

But the EHX Bass Big Muff sounds really good, as does the Malekko B:Assmaster, from the clips I've seen/heard.

Honestly, those two appeal to me more than any other fuzz pedal out there (besides the one I own).

My favourite distortion/fuzz by veeeeery far is the Bass Juice by T-Rex.

Not that I can say that it's the best ever but it's my personal best and its sound and possibilities have convinced about everyone I know.

But there are quite a few good others, I'll admit that much !

I have an Earthbound Supercollider and a Zoom Ultra Fuzz...they're very different from each other, but they're both my favorite!

I started out with a Wooly Mammoth, but that one really doesn't get along with my active bass.

Now I use a Big Muff with Tonebender mod, fuzzzzz

That pedal sounds killer.
