What are your thoughts on a two 12 cabinet?

Are you saying the 212 will over power the lows of the 115?

No. Although it may have more lows than the 15, size isn't the determining factor in lows. It will most likely have way more volume than a single 15 (aka higher sensitivity), so you'll be hearing your 2x12 rather than the 15. Also the 2x12 will very most likely be able to handle more power (2 drivers instead of one), both on the thermal rating and more importantly on the excursion limited power handling...therefore it will mask any distortion that the single 15 may be presenting when you push it, so you're less likely to hear the warning signs of the driver coming to its failure point.

My 115 is 400w @ 8ohms and the 212 is 600w @ 8ohms. I'm playing thru a GB ShuttleMax 12.0 which is 2 x 600w @ 4ohms.

If I run the 115 off 1 amp "channel" and the 212 off the other "channel"; will the 212 still over power the 115?

Having 2 channels will allow you to adjust the power to each per what they can handle and is a better situation than just hooking them all up to one amp and cranking it. Stack the 15 on top so you can better hear it when it starts to complain. "Wattage ratings" are pretty much meaningless, excursion is what matters, and those specs aren't published....use your ears.

I have a GK Neo 212 and am very happy with it.

Me too....awesome cab....reasonably priced and findable "used"...weights 50 lbs....sounds great with my GK 700RB-II.

I recommend the Neo 212-II over the MBE series cabs.

Another awesome 212 is the Mesa PowerHouse 212, heavier and more expensive but comes with added goodness.

The Genz Benz ShuttleMax isn't a 2 channel amp like that.

There are 2 600w amps...no power/adjustments for each amp. Just plug in 2 separate cab's and you get what you get out of the amp(s). Both will deliver the same power...providing both cab's are of the same ohms.

Then stack the 15 on top anyway so you can hear it better as that's your weak link, or better yet, get matching cabs so their tone is the same and power is evenly distributed.

And that would make me a bit nervous... I agree, that if you're going to do this, put the less sensitive speaker on the top of the stack so its closer to your ears. That way when the 15 starts to complain, you'll have a chance of hearing it. This is the same reason that there are so many "I blew the 15 in my 1x15+4x10 rig" threads.
