What are your thoughts on Advertisment?

No wonder I hate marketing so much, my IQ is double that of the ones that it is aimed at.

No, 160 is the minimum for Mensa, or the top 2 percentile in the world. Einstein was closer to 200 and Stephen Hawking has an IQ that is closer to 300.

These posts are a veiled attempt for you to brag about your IQ being high enough for mensa, which is merely a cover-up for the fact that you are a member of NAMBLA.

i'm not alone in the knowledge that IQs mean just about nothing, right?

No.

what's your physical IQ score?

I have no idea.

and there are different IQ tests and ways to submit the results to get in to mensa. not that it matters.

Yes, I know. I posted more to make the point that I feel it might not be very smart to go around bragging about how incredibly smart you are. IME, such statements tend to have the opposite effect.

to be clear, as talkbass can be a sensitive place, i wasn't poking at anyone. i understand your point in preceding posts, i was trying to move away from that part of the discussion [which amounts to asking whether a particular person is smart or not, which i want no part of haha] and talk about the merits, or lack thereof, of scoring systems like that overall.

i just haven't seen what i would call sufficient evidence that an IQ score has anything to do with mental ability or intelligence. i think it's a bit of a flaw of the hierarchy of learning that our bodies are left out of regimens that our minds are subjected to. why shouldn't kids have 45 minutes of dancing every day just as they do math?

but that's just thinking outloud, you know?

as for advertisements, i found part of the picture i mentioned earlier. it's a goodun.

interesting side note, when coke decided to get rid of the coca ingredient, people didn't mind so much, because the caffeine that replaced it has pretty much the exact same effects as the small amounts of cocaine that were in older coke products.:hyper:
