What Band's Bass Player Does Your Favorite Solo.

I know this has probably been asked many times, and the answers (I hope there are a lot) are gonna be all over the place as there are so many different tastes in Music. Some like Jazz. Some like Fusion. Some like Rock, etc. Mine is on the Allman Brothers' song, 'Mountain Jam' by Bassist, Berry Oakley.

So cool! I love(d) Rory Gallagher. RIP). One of the most underrated guitarists ever! Saw him many times in the early to mid-70's in So. California. Concerts back then had two opening acts and Rory was many times one of them, along with Fleetwood Mac (Pre Stevie Nicks), Little Feat, J. Geils. I'd not want to follow Rory's set!

Huge Who/Ox fan here; in spite of all the accolades for the “My Generation” solo, not to mention the riffing on “Can You See The Real Me”, where Entwistle basically solos all the way thru the song, this would be my pick...

A bit of a throwaway but nevertheless catchy tune, his spot is very jazzy, there’s this weird overtone that sounds like Hammond organ clicks, it’s short and sweet, plus there’s Pete’s little fuzz lead fills and banjo.
Runners up....I mean, c’mon....

...and this run; after all that hard driving, the most badass part of the song besides the intro is at 3:04...

Me too! That's why my User name in JacEntBerry! Jaco Pastorius, John Entwistle, Berry Oakley. I idolized Entwistle when I first switched from guitar to Bass when I was a Freshman in High School, and had to learn his parts, AND I always used the strings he used. Roto-Sound Round Wounds. I've seen The Who live multiple times. In fact, we had tickets in Irvine that was for Friday, two days after he died in Las Vegas. They said we could get a refund or see them when they reschedule. I chose the refund because 50% of my reason to see them was John Entwistle.
