Tina has used a Villette Citron, Fender Musicmaster, Fender Jass Bass, Hofner Club bass and Musicman Sabre bass .
G

+1 from memory.... seemed to use the short scale Fender's aLOT til later on in their career. I was 14 when "77" came out & LOVED her bass lines- on all the albums. but thought they "sold out" a bit at the end- don't bl;ame 'em tho..... they'd already produced some of the BEST rythyms / songs around!!! Love 'em!!!!!:hyper:

I saw them long ago & she was playing a Hofner Club & a J bass.

I saw an ad in a magazine a while back & she was playing a Carlo Robelli Beatle Bass in turquoise w/white binding.....Looked BEAUTIFUL !!!

I called Sam Ash to see if they still carried them & the guy I spoke to said they were discontinued & figured it was an old picture of her. :(

Does anyone know what bass Tina Weymouth (of Talking Heads) uses?
I' ve seen Tina Weimouth with MANY different basses. With Talking Heads and with the glorious Tom Tom Club. But she seemed to prefer, at least in the early days, Steinberger's L, old graphite neck and body, that weighted a tonelade, a green gray Jazz Bass and Music Man.
In an old interview in BP mag, talking about early graphite Steinberger L, she pointed that a buss could go over them and they would still be tuned. Don,t remmember if she mentioned the weight factor. I bought one and rapidly knew what a really heavy weight bass meant on your shoulder.
Today you can see Tina in lots of videos ussing an array of different basses, from old violin types to futuristic models, but she seems to be very loyal to her old Jazz Bass. ALWAYS always always she gets the right sound for the tune.
I wonder if she ever used a Precision. ¿Does anyone know?
