Was that when Thunes was working as a door man somewhere, got out of the music business? I remember that article. Tina used a P bass early on, but thought the neck was little big for her hands. Her feature profile in the 3/97 issue of Bass Player does not mention a Precision. Great, great interview btw (in an issue that also includes a mindblowing interview with Scott Thunes).
She looks real young here.

I don't remember Tina with long hair, Paz, from Perfect Circle and Zwan is, IMHO, a stone cold fox, my #1 looking female bassist as shallow as that soundsI believe that's Paz Lenchantin.
Ah, Talking Heads, the only band I can think of who've extensively used the MusicMan StingRay ............ (guitar) .

Does anyone know what bass Tina Weymouth (of Talking Heads) uses?
Yes she has a Pbass that was originally sunburst but she painted it grey. She used that Pbass for their R&R Hall Of Fame Induction performance.I' ve seen Tina Weimouth with MANY different basses. With Talking Heads and with the glorious Tom Tom Club. But she seemed to prefer, at least in the early days, Steinberger's L, old graphite neck and body, that weighted a tonelade, a green gray Jazz Bass and Music Man.
In an old interview in BP mag, talking about early graphite Steinberger L, she pointed that a buss could go over them and they would still be tuned. Don,t remmember if she mentioned the weight factor. I bought one and rapidly knew what a really heavy weight bass meant on your shoulder.
Today you can see Tina in lots of videos ussing an array of different basses, from old violin types to futuristic models, but she seems to be very loyal to her old Jazz Bass. ALWAYS always always she gets the right sound for the tune.
I wonder if she ever used a Precision. ¿Does anyone know?
That question was asked 12 years ago, FYIInvalid Link Removed Scroll down. May be partial list.
I've seen her play a big hollow body before. Like a gretsch or something.Does anyone know what bass Tina Weymouth (of Talking Heads) uses?
