For me it is every Lakland neck I've played, 4 or 5. Their necks just seem to fit me perfectly. I've owned two 55-01, two 44-01 and a JO4. The JO is 1.5" nut width, the 44-01 1.6 and thinner front to back, but even though they are different they still both feel great.
The best neck in my collection, 9 guitars, 3 basses, is the Rickenbacker Stereo 4001, 1973 (from new). No comparison, although I can cope with the Dano and Squier PB.
Interesting to me how a few folks on here mention the Kubicki and the Rick neither of which are full scale. The Kubicki is medium at 32" and the Rick's are 33.25".
My Geddy Jazz, after playing for 2 hours it starts getting almost slippery. Followed by the SUB ray4, bit of a thicker neck but the bass sits in a really nice spot to play.
I guess that depends on the player. I have been able to play any bass I've tried regardless of neck shape. I have 10 basses now, with different necks on them and can play them all.
Mine is any '91-'99, or post '09 Warwick neck with the current slim profile. Sold every other bass I had when I got my first because they just became such a chore to play.
I had a preGibson Tobias 6 that was stolen from Toledo Ohio. I loved that bass and played her for 12 years! Then I got my MTD 635-24 and wow has Mike picked up his game. Easily one of the best necks to play on and tap on!
I agree with everyone who mentioned MTD and their neck profile. Very comfortable indeed. I have a Skjold Skjoldslayer 5 string and I've had a couple of Dingwalls(abz and abii) that have great necks. My old Roscoe LG 3005 has a great neck too. A lot of very talented luthiers making great basses out there!!!
