Agreed. Fodera. Looks more hung over to me.
So before watching the video I read all the comments first. I didn't get yours. I thought maybe you had played a Fodera and it was "unbalanced" and then I saw what you meant in the video. Hysterical!
wow, as rough as he looks, he sounds spectacular. If anyone has any info on that bass I would love to know what the body woods and electronics are. Computer virus is making searching tough.
It's definitely a Fodera. I heard him perform with the yellowjackets a few months ago and he was playing that bass. It''s a marvelous Fodera, great sound and beautiful. It's a 6 string with a 33" neck (i believe). It's definitely shorter tho, he says it's so that his technique fluid throughout the entire neck. Less stretching in the lower frets. Such a wonderful person, so nice and so much respect for the music.
Fodera singlecut (Imperial? MG?) in any case. Maybe he is just tired or hurt his leg the day before playing Jai Alai or BASE jumping.
Not a huge fan of his tone generally but he sounds pretty good on this.
He has those Jaco-esque friggin huge mitts and he can definately fly on the fretboard when he wants to.

Every time I have seen him at Saxquest in St. Louis with The Mu'tet he has sat down. In videos of him with the Yellowjackets he was standing. He is very tall (makes me look like a fat midget) and his hands are huge.
Great player...Don't think its so much the Fodera as it is the Amp system... I have played the Hartke and GK Systems...But I could never warm up to them!!!
Felix is a great guy and I used to see him play with his brother as "WAY OF THE GROOVE" . Glad that he is getting some big gigs with Yellowjackets and Jeff Coffin among others.
Funny story... I just remembered I reluctantly entered a bass competition at Guitar Center and lost to him . Was 2nd place that evening, I remember I didn't practice at all as I thought whole idea of a music competition was kind of silly. The prize was a GK Rig, so that was the only reason I wanted to enter..plus my friends really egged me on. I did not think anyone of his caliber would be there thats for sure, he performed good(played a lot like his dad that night) but has improved a ton since then thats for sure and developed a lot more of an individual voice. I recall Trip Wamsley was one of the judges too , another excellent player and person.
