I think it's a 34" scale since it's got 20 frets.

The short scale would have 22 if I'm not mistaken.

Looks like a Squier Jaguar Vintage Modified Bass Special, fairly recent vintage, minus the headstock logo.

And the short scales only come in black,silver or red. Never seen one with a sunburst finish that was from the factory. Stop by the club (see my sig), tons of photos.

Just get the new VM Jaguar Short Scale - $180 brand new! They are incredibly awesome - check out the thread on them here. Totally my favorite bass out of 20 - super easy to play and great sound. IMO - the only downside to them is that they are only available in red, silver or black.

Nah, if it was a good deal, probably bought by some random person. I believe the really great deals get set aside for friends and relations before they hit the web. Every item on the website has already cleared the police hold, so they have been around the store for a while.

Ok...it's hard to be exact when working off a small photo, but if you assume the width of a Jazz bridge pickup is about 3.7 inches...and use the width of the bridge pickup in the photo as a gauge to measure the distance between the nut and the bridge in the photo....

I used Adobe Photoshop and made a block from the bridge pickup and laid those blocks out from the bridge to the 12th fret and I got a reading close to 17" . So that says it is a long scale 34" bass. I have to pass on it since I am looking for a short scale bass. This was a good idea on how to possibly find the length. Thank you.

A snazzy and inexpensive but still sweet sounding little short-scale bass you might like is the Gretsch Junior Jet. It won't get you bragging rights. But it's a dynamite little bass. Especially if you get one of the early ones that had the TV Jones pickup.

love my squier ss jag, but if you want a cheaper short scale, there's the SX line from rondo. they have several but this is the cheapest one

I used to think that I needed to own expensive basses until I decided that I don't need "professional" quality equipment anymore. I traded my American Jazz 62 RI for a MIM Jazz and then bought the Squire VM Jag for a backup. What backup? I use it all of the time now and think it is great.
